Who Is The Most Powerful Telepath ?

I say...

1. Jean Grey
2. Professor Charles Xavier/Cassandra Nova
3. Emma Frost
4. Legion

1. The Sentry- He's the only one out of the group who doesn't require the amplification of Cerebra to broadcast his telepathy. He was able to make the entire world forget who he was simply by desiring it--the process was also subconscious.
   
   Jean Greay- when powered by the Phoenix; if we're talking "White Phoenix of the Crown," then it's no contest and she moves up ti #1.
   
   Emma Frost- I think they're making it pretty clear that Emma is the up-and-coming psychic of the team. She's proven herself to hold off Sinister, Exodus, and Professor Xavier. Let's not forget that she single-handedly destroyed the Skrull's psychic net by combating their 5 of their telepaths at once.
   
   Professor Xavier- We all know his story.
   
   Exodus- Kind of a badass and really only second to Charles. I'd love to see him and Jean in the arena sometime.
   
   Rachel Grey- She was able to send her entire mind back in time! We have yet to see the range of her telepathy now that the Phoenix Force has left her.
   
   The Stepford Cookoos- I'm sort of on the fence about these gals. They make a wonderful Gestalt Mind--especially when linked to the 1,000 or some odd clones--but they are powerful in their own right. With more training, they could be more like Emma.
   
   Mr. Sinister- he seems to be like Rachel or Emma, but needs more artificial amplifiers to really packa mental punch.

If she's Xavier's twin that comment lead me to believe the Nova/Xavier telepathy is more powerful. Tricky comparison. To me, that's like asking, "Who's the smartest?" and saying, "Wolverine, because he could survive a nuclear explosion and live to tell about it." Sure cosmic fury is part of Phoenix's power set, but does energy absorbtion really have anything to do with telepathy?

Two things:

1) That was also at the beginning of Morrison's revamp of Emma Frost. Before, she was just a talented psychic with a high seat in an influential cabal. Remember how iceman used to only be able to turn into a snowman? Now we see him freezing the hair in peoples' lungs or re-corpoealizing after being shattered/evaporated. Can't a girl have some time to evolve?

2) Are you disagreeing about where I ranked Xavier and Emma? I think we've both agreed that Jean wins the psychic champion belt. Again, this rests on the idea that Emma is becoming stronger--not just potential, but really has grown into the peak of her abilities. She's matched most of Xavier's feats (challenging Exodus, being a big one) and has shown incredible precognitive ability.

I don't know if it was because he was caught off guard, but when Emma and Scott mentally ambush Charles in Astonishing and force him to walk through all of his past judgments seems like something Xavier could have easily fought against. He wasn't exactly in a compliant mood and he was still self-justifying planting suggestions into Scott's mind to meet him in the forest.

What about Emma's involvement separating Bob/Sentry's consciousness by creating the White Room? Or holding the Void and containing it? Doesn't that shoot her up in the ranks?

I've always wondered if people like Emma, who have little to no boundaries regarding what her powers could be used for, might not have an edge over Jean/Xavier who practice telepathy with a more "ethical" guideline? What do you think?

I'm with you here, Justin. Magic/reality-shaping powers are not the same thing as telepathy, although what she can accomplish is pretty sever. I think the question we should be asking about the Scarlet Witch is, "Does her powers qualify Wanda as an Omega Level Mutant? Or is she something more?"

In regards to Wanda, I'd argue that she's the most powerful mutant. After House of M, I'd say it's hard to deny that fact.
